Today while cleaning a lower cabinet drawer i found an unopened box that I purchased in Chicago in 2006 for $11,50 USD. My math say in 14 years the price has increased 226%, but for $26 it's worth it. Greatest lather and creamy smooth, with a great razor, produces the greatest shave. Thanks T&H. Wish you were still in Chicago, IL USA

Thank you for your kind review. I believe you are referring the Lux Soap Mug refill as our prices have not increased for over 10 years. The mug refill is $15 versus the refill which is $26

Nothing compares!

I have looked around for substitutes, but I've found no other shave soap that quickly produces thick lather like this stuff. As the other reviewer mentioned, you need to get a shaving brush and a bowl. It seems to last forever. Really. Several months at least.

Simply the best!

I have been shaving with soap brick and brush since I started shaving as a kid. I have used many differant brands. Using a brush definatly gives a much better lather and also helps massage your skin before your shave. Not to mention gives you some character as well.

This soap has a history behind it, as well as a great clean scent. The brick will last a very long time, and is meant to be a replacement for the fine crafted wooden soap bowl Truefitt & Hill sell. The soap will last longer then about 8 or so aerosol cans, being my roommate uses aerosol cans for shaving to judge by. Not to forget aerosol can shave cream has numbing agents which hurt your skin later in the day unlike brick soap such as Truefitt & Hill's fine quality.

The lather this soap makes is distinguishing rich and thick, with out being 'too' foamy, which makes for a truely good shaving experiance. Combined with the Truefitt & Hill pre shave oil, your blade will almost shave your face itself; leaving your face feeling good and ultimatly clean for the rest of the day, combined with one of Truefitt & Hill's many fine quality after-shave blams.

For the price, how long this lasts, and rich mixture to make this soap I will not use anything else. It's usually a long hard day, and the one thing I can do specail for myself is give myself a good qualtiy shave after a shower in the morning.

Enjoy!

I don't know how I lived before

I don't know how I lived before I discovered this shave soap. Besides being much more luxurious and soothing than the stuff that comes from an aerosol can, a single bar of this lasts at least half a year, making it the more economical choice as well.
